The designation of a prophet is a calling and assignment from God ordained by Heaven and confirmed by man.
A Prophesy is a gift and grace available to every believer through the Holy Spirit.
A good prophesy doesn't make you a Prophet. Every son and daughter can prophecy thanks to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:16-18)
This means we all have something to contribute to the larger prophetic equation. We all have a part to play in unveiling God's goodness and grace on the Earth.
Many feel unqualified to hear from God and deliver a word on His part. This is no accident. This is part of the fall of man, and sin entering the world.
Isaiah says, "God's arm is not too short to save, nor His ear dull of hearing. But sin and iniquities have separated you from God and hidden His face from you."
Sin tries to keep you from hearing God and seeing His face. Jesus removed this separation through His sacrifice on the Cross and has established a New Covenant of connection.
But the enemy still works to get you to doubt your ability to truly Hear God's voice - which is the heart of prophecy.
